"Soy estudiante de doctorado en Biología Evolutiva en la Universidad de Bath y cofundador de Madagascar Nature Conservation. Mi investigación se centra en la evolución de los roles sexuales y las estrategias reproductivas, y en cómo estos moldean la biodiversidad, con un enfoque particular en las aves malgaches y en análisis comparativos entre distintos taxones.

Biased birth sex ratios of mammals and birds in zoos

Birth sex ratio biases threaten small zoo populations, varying by clade and predicted by traits (SSD, clutch size, mating system). Analysis of 453 species found 30 flagships at risk, underscoring the need to integrate biology into conservation planning.

The evolution of exceptional diversity in parental care and fertilization modes in ray-finned fishes

Ray-finned fishes show diverse parental care. From 7,600 species, we found transitions linked to fertilization: oviductmouth favor female care, brood pouch male care. Internal fertilization without care is unstable, revealing aquatic-driven flexibility.

Fast species diversification among dragonflies (Anisoptera: Odonata: Insecta) inhabiting lentic environments regardless of wing pigmentation

In dragonflies, we tested how wing pigmentation and habitat shape diversification using state-dependent models. Pigmentation slightly increases diversification, but habitat is key: lentic species diversify more. Ancestors were non-pigmented and lotic.

A survey in five rainforest sites of Chimalapas-Uxpanapa recorded 16 new odonate species for the region, including rare taxa like Erpetogomphus ophibolus and Hetaerina infecta. Findings expand distribution knowledge in Oaxaca and Veracruz.

Territorial damselflies are larger and show negative allometry in their genitalia

Sex-related and spatial variation in trace elements in feathers of the Kentish plover (Charadrius alexandrinus) from different coastal areas of the Iberian Peninsula

We analyzed feathers of 50 Kentish plovers from 7 Iberian coastal sites. Trace element levels varied by region and sex: Andalusian birds had highest concentrations females showed higher Mn, Al, and As. Elevated pollutants may threaten local populations.

La colección entomológica de la UDLAP resguarda 231 odonatos de 30 géneros y 11 familias, el acervo más grande de Puebla. Incluye ejemplares urbanos y de regiones como Chimalapas-Uxpanapa. Sus datos serán publicados en GBIF, ampliando su valor científico.
